UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. When doing this it is important that the new handles match the dimensions of the previous handle.
The top screw's position, the lever and the keyhole sizes are the three measurements that you need to check. Refer to the size guide for assistance in this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle is a modern-day door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This type door handle is available in a wide range of designs and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made of tough materials and are perfect for doors with multiple points that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline, and they use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They can be easily installed on any uPVC/Composite door.
The handle can be placed and angled to suit any user. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is situated further back from the door. A lever that is shorter is an ideal choice for doors where the latch can be activated by the thumb turn inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles found on most doors. These handles can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and styles.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Chrome, and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.
All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws and can be installed on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which is often a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the problem of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.
After you have identified the correct PZ size and the correct PZ size, you must ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They typically have rectangular or round in design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, rather than hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles come in both left and right handed models which allows them to be installed on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of door. The cylinder lock is operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with both internal and external doors generally needing different levels of security.
Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is essential; it is dependent on the way your door and handle are used. External doors, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security while internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder must be measured accurately to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. It is best to do this with the lock in place however, if this is not possible, you may remove it to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, so it is crucial that it's not too long.
Most newer cylinders have been made with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. These are designed to reduce the chance of a attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in an opposite direction. This will help to deflect attacks and keep your door safe.
There are cylinders that have been designed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is smashed by a tool that is specially designed to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can hinder the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is found within the base plate of your door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after use. In the past, a lot of these types of handle did not have a spring integrated into them, and as a result, they are more likely to slide or drop once the locking mechanism is removed. Adding this simple component is among the best methods to correct this, and is a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as they are not always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes have been specifically designed for use with multipoint locks sprung but they won't work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution for damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut-out that accommodates an 8mm spindle and are available in a variety of.
